Our work experience programme

VLC organises specially designed overseas work placements for secondary pupils.

We have carefully chosen partners in Germany, Spain and France who have experience of working with young children, secure links with local companies and a clear understanding of the particular needs of our programme and our participants.

The programme is designed to provide pupils; often with limited linguistic ability and life experiences, with a unique opportunity to build their confidence, broaden their horizons and raise their life and career aspirations. It enables pupils to operate beyond their comfort zones but within a carefully controlled and managed schedule.

Pupils are given 3 or 4 days to adapt to being away from home and to the foreign culture before they being their work placements. They undergo various tasks and activities such as treasure hunts and interviewing locals to familiarise themselves with the local area and practise using the target language in an authentic setting.

Our trips are based in Regensburg (Germany), Alicante (Spain) and we are currently in discussions with a partner in Montpellier (France).
