Assessor and Verifier Training
The Assessor award is a nationally recognised level 3 qualification which is a requirement
for teachers wishing to assess NVQ language units.
The aims of the qualification are to ensure that the Assessor is able to:
- Assess candidates against agreed standards using a range of assessment methods.
- Give candidates feedback on assessment decisions.
- Contribute to internal quality procedures.
Content
- The Qualification comprises two elements and covers:
- Understanding the principles and practices of assessment (theory)
Assessing vocational skills, knowledge and understanding (practice)
Course Duration
The course comprises of 3 days training spread throughout the year with email and telephone support inbetween each session. Ideally you need to be teaching an NVQ class in parallel in order to gain the evidence required for the award. Teachers will build up a portfolio of evidence online.
Language Methodology
Our course covers all the generic requirements of the Assessor course but it also focuses on the NVQ language units and methods of delivery.

Internal Verifier Training for Language Teachers
This course leads to the level 4 ’Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice’
It is suitable for
teachers who are processing language units within their schools and is ideal for teachers who wish to set up or manage their own centre. It can lead to verification opportunities with other schools and organisations.
