A1 assessor training

The A1 (Assessor) award is a nationally recognised assessment qualification which is a requirement
for teachers wishing to assess NVQ language units.

The aims of the qualification are to ensure that the Assessor is able to:

  • Assess candidates against agreed standards using a range of assessment methods.
  • Give candidates feedback on assessment decisions.
  • Contribute to internal quality procedures.

Content

The A1 Qualification comprises four elements and covers:

  • Developing plans for assessing competence with candidates.
  • Judging evidence against agreed standards to make assessment decisions.
  • Giving candidate feedback and support on assessment decisions.
  • Contributing to the internal quality assurance procedure.

Course Duration

The course comprises of 4 days training spread throughout the year with email and telephone support inbetween each session. Ideally you need to be teaching an NVQ class in parallel in order to gain the evidence required for the award.

Language Methodology

Our course covers all the generic requirements of the A1 but it also focuses on the NVQ language units and methods of delivery.

Venues
